Tablet computers are quickly becoming common place.

The ipad is probably the most heavily talked about device, but many others exist from leading electronics manufacturers.

The development of such devices has seen a rise in the apps ( applications ) which previously, were mainly used on smart phones.

The photographic world has embraced this new technology and found interesting ways of using it.

 Reported in the British journal of photography http://www.bjp-online.com/british-journal-of-photography/news/2112025/magazine-revenue-stream-photographers a new app called "Once" has emerged showcasing the best in creative photography portfolios.

Another interesting way in which these apps are used is into the day to day shooting process in studio.

Phase one has developed an app which allows the photographer or perhaps the client to view the shooting process whilst in the same studio on a ipad so that they can view, tag, and rate images as they are being shot.

The addition of the tablet computer to the commercial photographer is an exciting and useful tool.

Anything which helps the creative photography process can only be a positive move forward, but all of these additions to the photographic process, must never cloud your view when booking your professional photography project.

Clever gadgets and filters will only get you so far, working with a true professional photographer is the real key to the success of your commercial studio or location shoot.
